Firefighter and paramedic Nate Reisdorf is quick to acknowledge that when he goes out on a call, it's a team effort.
In early April of this year, Reisdorf and fellow rescue crew members Ryan Stanwood, Captain Dave Page, Phil Klass and Mark Jodarski responded to a call for a non-breathing child at a Wauwatosa daycare. The child had been eating lunch when a piece of meatball became lodged in her throat.

Quickly reacting to what was a panicked and tense situation, Reisdorf and his team members were able to dislodge the piece of meatball, and get the young girl breathing again.
For Reisdorf, it's one of the elements of the job that keeps his family in his thoughts. “I have three young girls, so right away when I saw this patient, I can only think of my own children,” Reisdorf said.Â
For his commitment to public safety and his incredible professionalism in the line of duty, Nate Reisdorf is a nominee for WTMJ Care's Salute to Service award.
