  • From the "Sports Builds Character" File...

We get this story out of Missouri.  A youth football coach shoves an 11-year old on the opposing team.  Yes, there is video.

My favorite part of the story comes from the line "after a heated game".  A heated game... with 11-years.  Really?  By the way, the coach is talking.   This is how it started, he says, "One of the kids coming at me was saying you suck and coming at our players. When he got close he said you blanking suck. And I reached out and shoved him and said knock it off now."  He says that shove was no more and no less than what he would have done with his own son.Warneke says, "With that kind of language and that kind of poor sportsmanship going on if my own son who does play on my team had acted that way, I would have expected another coach to do the same thing. I certainly would not have had a problem with it. In fact my son probably would have been grounded for the week."

  • Jagler and Mueller ROCK Philly

We are like little kids.  On the field, watching batting practice, hanging with the players.  Life is good.  Listen to WMN for updates and check back for more videos as the Brewers get ready for  the Phillies.

We had a great cabbie that gave us a tour of the city.  Here's the Liberty Bell from the back of a cab.

Get out of the cab?  Nah..  not enough time.  But we make time to run the ROCKY STEPS like dorks..

Our view from the booth and the view of our giant sandwiches..

They don't know how to tailgate here.  No grills allowed!

If there are Brewers fans here, they are in disguise...

What the final out looked like from our Standing Room Only seats..

I know what you're thinking.  Why didn't they sit in the press box?  Well, the press box is lame if you're a fan.  You can't cheer.  That's the rule.  You have to sit there, with crusty guys who don't even want to be at a baseball game.  It's their job.  They hate life.  Imagine if something that you grew up loving... sports.. turned into something that you didn't like anymore... work.  For me, it's still a thrill being on the field, being in the clubhouse, ,seeing the ballplayers up close.  I actually feel sorry for the sportswriters who are jaded and have become "impartial".  You want to see what life is like in the press box?  Well, let's take a tour and you won't believe where our Dan O'Donnell had to sit for the game.  I'd rather stand for three hours anyday..

  • Are they still Aiken to be Clayed?

My fascination with Clay Aiken has taken an unexpected turn.  As I lay in a fever induced haze, I heard the "news" that Clay Aiken came out of the closet.  I thought I was hearing wrong.  I have always watched with morbid curiosity the 50 to 60 year old women who thought he was a sex symbol.  Claymates, as they call themselves, are everywhere.  Check out the freaks in  this group out of Georgia.  Or this Claymate forum where fans are expressing their shock.  HOW CAN THEY BE SHOCKED?  My favorite post, "maybe I can change him".  Clay has a great voice, I have never cared about his sexual preference.  I just always assumed, like anyone with a semi-working Gaydar, that he was gay.

  • The hot zone...

You know when your kids are sick and you say "I wish I could take it from them"?  I wouldn't recommend doing it when all three kids in the house are sick.  They all, gladly, gave it to me.  A grown man should not have a fever of 103.  Just saying.  Couldn't keep anything down.  Couldn't stand up.  That's what's life has been like over the last two days.  Admittedly, I am a big "sick baby".  I don't do sick well.  You want to know how bad it is?  I'm too sick to even play Madden.  Now THAT's sick.  Hope to be back Wednesday, but Thursday is more likely.  In the meantime, this sign should be posted on the outside of my house..

    HOTZONE sign

  • You can't do that..

The Saints lost on a missed field goal.  No wonder Martin Grammatica missed the field goal against Denver.  His holder, punter Steve Weatherford, was wearing a watch and wedding ring.  I assure you, this is not photoshopped...

  • You can never have too many Millers..

Now I have two.  There's Gene Mueller.. and now Andi Miller on our WMN family.  She's already doing a great job getting you to work on time and we'll see if she can keep me and Gene in line.

    Andi Miller

    Here's her bio:

Andi Miller was raised in Waukesha where her parents still live today. A graduate of Waukesha South, she attended college in Naperville, IL and emerged with a degree in communications in 1994. Her first job out college was as a traffic reporter doing airborne traffic reports for Hot 102, WMCS and AM 540 WYLO. After various on air positions at a handful of Milwaukee radio stations, a disasterous 3 month stint in Nashville , and the job-of-a-lifetime working for 105.3 The Fish,  she became a full time stay at home mom in 2006. This would prove to be her most challenging job ever!

Andi has 3 kids, ages 6, 2 and 1 with her husband Joe and they reside in Big Bend .  They have chickens and a large shedding dog named Steve.

  • For those of you feeling sentimental today about your Milwaukee Brewers...

Who has time to do this stuff?  Anyway..

  • They said that? No they didn't....

As discussed on WMN, a story I did a few years back about things you thought you heard, but really didn't..

  • The woman selling her virgnity...
as discussed on WMN, here's more on the story, including an interview with the Sacramento State University student who is selling her virginity to pay for grad school. By the way, she wants to be a marriage counselor.
  • Think about this before you boo the next time...

I admit it... I am an Eric Gagne fan.  Judging by the boos he gets from the home fans, I may be the only one left.  I fully admit you paid your hard earned money and have a right to boo.  But it doesn't make it right and it certainly doesn't mean you have class.  Wanted to pass this note along... it came from John Cary at the MACC fund.  Gagne just donated $50,000 to the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer. eric gagne It's the single largest donation in the organization's 32-year history.  From the MACC fund news release:  In addition to his donation to the MACC Fund, Eric Gagne has helped with other local causes including a recent gift of $20,000 to the Milwaukee County Parks Department to help repair ball fields damaged by summer floods and $10,000 to Koos for Kids Foundation in Racine which helps terminally ill and disadvantaged children.  Gagne also teamed up with Foley & Lardner Law Firm in the “K’s for a Cause” initiative, making a donation for every strikeout at a 2008 home game and he regularly donates funds for youth baseball in his native Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Go ahead and boo.. i'm going to wear my Gagne on Jersey Friday.
