Milwaukee’s major medical school is having to furlough hundreds of workers and have executives take pay cuts due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report.
WTMJ news partner Milwaukee Business Journal says MCW has to furlough 700 workers and make the executive pay cuts after seeing a 25 percent revenue drop.
Froedtert Hospital is taking similar steps, with some employees who don’t see patients taking furloughs along with pay cuts for leadership, according to the report.
They are also seeing a 40 percent revenue decline and an even greater monetary percentage decrease from the partnership it has for doctors’ practices with MCW, according to the Business Journal.
